    Belgium, Poland (KSeF) and France made structured B2B e-invoicing mandatory in 2026. Billing flows are already changing.

    ECC mainstream maintenance ends

    December 31 closes the default support path for SAP ECC 6.0 (EHP 6 to 8). Germany also requires e-invoice issuance from January for companies above €800,000 in turnover.

  3. 2030 Next

    Extended maintenance runs out

    Optional extended maintenance, priced at a premium, ends December 31. From July, the EU's ViDA rules bring digital reporting to intra-EU trade.

  4. 2033 Next

    The last bridge closes

    SAP's transition option for ECC ends. It is only open to select customers that move to SAP ERP, private edition by the end of 2030.

SAP S/4HANA is SAP's current ERP suite and the successor to SAP ECC. It runs on the SAP HANA in-memory database and covers finance, procurement, sales, supply chain, manufacturing and analytics on one simplified data model, with reporting on live transactions.

SAP Cloud ERP, formerly S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, is SaaS: SAP best practices, regular updates and a fast, standardized rollout, usually through GROW with SAP. SAP Cloud ERP Private, formerly S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, typically comes through RISE with SAP and allows deeper customization. On-premise S/4HANA runs on infrastructure you control. Mainstream maintenance for SAP ECC 6.0 (EHP 6 to 8) ends on December 31, 2027. Optional extended maintenance runs until December 31, 2030 at a higher fee, followed by reduced customer-specific maintenance. SAP also offers a transition option until 2033, only for select customers that move to SAP ERP, private edition by 2030.
